CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
April 18, 1985
A work session of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to
order at 7:00 P.M. by Councilman Kulaszewicz. Members pre-
sent: . Marier, Bohjanen. Mayor Benson and Councilman Reinert
arrived later. Public Works Director, Don Volk; City Adminis-
trator, Randy. Schumacher; and Engineer, John Davidson were
also present. Residents present: Roger Kolstad and a Sher-
wood Green resident.
Mr. Davidson presented the concepts of the Municipal State
Aid System, the annual reporting system and the requirements
for construction of a Municipal State Aid Street.
Mr. Davidson reviewed the cooperative effort of the City with
Anoka County and the Rice Creek Watershed District to plan
and construct a total drainage system for the 4th Avenue /Main
Street area. Mr. Davidson will prepare a work scope plan anti
a financing outline and bring it to the April 22, 1985 Council
meeting.
Mr. Davidson reviewed the 80th Street project. A review had been
made of the Joint Powers Agreement between the City and the County
authorizing the County to proceed with plans and specifications.
The plan will outline the necessary right -of -way requirements.
The City then will be obligated for work as follows:
1. Secure the necessary right -of -way to complete the plan.
2. Provide for bridge replacement at the culvert east of I35.
It was suggested by Mr. Marier that we proceed immediately to
notify the Anoka Electric Cooperative that we would be asking
for slope easements within their power line right -of -way.
A meeting with Anoka County Officials, County Engineer, Rice
Creek Watershed District Board members regarding the County
ditches and maintenance and /or implementation of a project
to improve the ditch system will be set by the Council at the
next Council meeting.
The meeting adjourned at about 8:30 P.M.
These minutes were considered corrected and approved at a
regular meeting on May 1_, 985. --
