CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 07 - 129
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY,
DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT GRANT
NUMBER 2007 -CCP -00657 TO ADMINISTER A CERT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes submitted a Minnesota Department of Public
Safety, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
Grant application; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of submitting the application is to start up a Community
Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program; and
WHEREAS, the CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for
hazards that may impact their area; and
WHEREAS, the CERT program trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills to
assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when
professional public safety responders are not immediately available to
help; and
WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in the following
manner:
Increase Revenue — Contributions $20,200.00
Increase Expenditures — Police (4214) $20,200.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council members, do
hereby accept the $20,200.00 in grant funding to administer a CERT program.

Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 27th day of August, 2007.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council

BACKGROUND
The City of Lino Lakes submitted a Minnesota Department of Public Safety,
Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division Grant. This grant is
the start up a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program. This
CERT Program educates people about disaster preparedness.
The purpose of Resolution 07 - 129 is to accept the $20,200.00 grant dollars to
initiate the CERT program.
OPTIONS
1. Adopt Resolution No. 07 - 129 accepting the grant dollars.
2. Return the Resolution to staff for further information.
