Council Member Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 07 -182
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR
2007 BOULEVARD TREE PLANTING PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City requires the installation of boulevard trees in conjunction with each
new residential development, and
WHEREAS, the developer has provided funds for the planting of such trees, and
WHEREAS, city staff has identified the number, type and location of boulevard trees to
be planted for the respective developments, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to a request for quotes for the 2007 Boulevard Tree Planting
project, quotes were received and tabulated according to law on October 15, 2007, and
the following quotes were received complying with the request:

Midwest Landscapes $14,313.00
Fairs Nursery $14,674.00
Mickman Brothers $16,480.00
Great Northern Landscapes $14,455.00
AND WHEREAS, Midwest Landscapes is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Clerk and hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with Midwest Landscapes in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for
planting of approximately 52 trees.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to retain the next lowest
bidder until a contract has been signed.

Adopted by the Lino Lake City Council this 22nd day of October, 2007.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council
Member Stoltz and upon voting being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof:
Carlson, Stoltz, Reinert, O'Donnell, Bergeson

WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

TOPIC: Accepting Bid for Boulevard Trees in New Developments
BACKGROUND:
The City of Lino Lakes escrows dollars for the planting of one tree on the
boulevard of each new home frontage in developments. A bid was sent out to
several landscape companies requesting service to supply and plant these trees.
Four bids were received. The low bid total submitted by Midwest Landscapes.
came to $14,313.00.
OPTIONS:
1. Accept the bid from Midwest Landscapes.
2. Do not accept the bid.
RECOMMENDATION: Option 1.
