WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has received a petition from residents and property owners in the West Oaks area, in the southeast corner of the City requesting that the City pursue the extension of sanitary sewer and water service to their properties, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: The petition to pursue sanitary sewer and watermain for the West Oaks area has been received. e Bartell, Ci , Clerk ell, Acting Mayor Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 26th day of November, 2007. Studenski, City Engineer COUNCIL MEETING DATE: November 26, 2007 TOPIC: Resolution No.07 -190, Receive Petition, West Oaks Utility Improvements. VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority BACKGROUND: The City has received a petition from residents and property owners in the West Oaks area, in the southeast corner of the City as shown on the attached map. The petition requests that the City pursue the extension of Sanitary Sewer and Water. A copy of the petition is attached. The attached petition received October 25, 2007 by the City contains 30 signatures from 28 properties. All signatures have been verified by the City Clerk. The properties on the petition represent 47% or 28 of the 59 single family residential lots in the West Oaks Subdivision. During the summer of 2006 White Bear Township extended a low pressure sanitary sewer and watermain system to the northern limits of the Township just south of County Road J as shown on the attached map. As directed by the City Council at the March 6, 2006 work session, the White Bear Township project was designed to service the properties in Lino Lakes shown outlined in orange on the attached map. The City Council has directed staff to provide more information to the residents and determine to what extent the property owners are still interested. Staff will prepare a letter to the Lino Lakes residents within the entire area able to be served by the White Bear Township Sanitary Sewer and Watermain. This letter will be discuss at the December 3rd Work Session.
