HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-005 Council Resolution• • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 04-05 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CLASSIFICATION OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTIES WITH NOTICE TO OBTAIN THE PROPERTIES WHEREAS, the Anoka County Board of Commissioners has prepared a list describing lands designated as Classification List Number CL204 which describes land forfeited to the State of Minnesota pursuant to Chapter 282 of the Minnesota Statutes, and has determined that it is advisable to sell said land; and, WHEREAS, Two properties within Lino Lakes listed as: 1. Lot 13 Blk 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 (21 31 22 43 0037) 2. Lot 14 Blk 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 (28 31 22 12 0033) are included in the Classification List; and, WHEREAS, the Anoka County Land Commissioner has requested the Lino Lakes City Council approve classification of the parcels. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. The classification of the parcels is hereby approved. 2. Staff is authorized and directed to notify the Anoka County Land Commissioner that the City would like to obtain title to the properties for public purposes. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 12th day of January, 2004. John erge M yor • AGENDA ITEM 7B STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine DATE: 1/12/04 TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 04 -05 Approving the Classification of Tax Forfeit Properties with notice to obtain the properties VOTE REQUIRED: Simple majority BACKGROUND: Two parcels of property in Lino Lakes have forfeited to the State of Minnesota because of delinquent property taxes. If the parcels are not repurchased within six months, the City can choose to obtain title to them for public use. The Anoka County Land Commissioner has asked the City Council to approve the classification of two parcels (see map): Lot 13, Block 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 Lot 14, Block 7 Lakes Addition No. 3 Both of these parcels are serving as storm water ponds. Staff is recommending the city obtain both parcels. OPTIONS: 1. Adopt Resolution No. 04 -05 Approving the Classification of Tax Forfeit Properties with notice to obtain the properties. 2. Do not adopt the resolution, allowing the parcels to be purchased at public auction when the repurchase period expires. 3. Return to staff for further consideration. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Stoltz and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Reinert, Dahl, Bergeson, Carlson and Stoltz. The following voted against same: None. Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted.
