HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-020 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 04 - 20 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM THE CENTENNIAL FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIATION TO PURCHASE A COMMAND VEHICLE WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has a command vehicle that they want to sell. This vehicle is a 1981 Chevrolet that has been converted to a command vehicle complete with desks, radios and storage. The vehicle has very low mileage and an all aluminum body; and WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Police Department worked with the Centennial Fire District on purchasing this vehicle and was previously approved to enter into a joint venture. This vehicle would provide a place to work on larger incidents and could also be used for emergency operations, police tactical operations, community events, longer fire investigations, etc. WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in the following manner: Increase Revenue - Contributions Increase Expenditures- Police Capital Outlay $5,000.00 $5,000.00 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lino Lakes City Council members, do hereby accept the $5,000.00 to purchase the command vehicle and wishes to express its gratitude to the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association for their generous donation. • Berg -' on, Mayor • AGENDA ITEM 5A STAFF ORIGINATOR: David Pecchia, Public Safety Director / Police Chief C. MEETING DATE: February 9, 2004 TOPIC: Accepting Donation from Centennial Firefighters Relief Association to purhcase a Command Van VOTE: 3/5 (Simply Majority) BACKGROUND At the January 12, 2004 City Council meeting, the City Council approved the request to enter into an agreement with the Centennial Fire District to purchase a Command Vehicle from the City of Elk River. The purpose of Resolution No. 04 -20 is to publicly thank the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association for the generous donation to purchase the Command Vehicle, as well as formally accept these funds. • OPTIONS 1. Approve Resolution No. 04 -20 accepting the donation of $5,000 from the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association for purchase of a Command Vehicle. 2. Return to staff for further consideration.
