HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-135 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 04 -135 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH LEGACY HOLDINGS LINO LAKES, LLC WHEREAS, approximately 40 acres of property on the southeast quadrant of 35W /Lake Drive has been guided in the Lino Lakes Comprehensive Plan for a mixed use town center development (the "Site "); and WHEREAS, on November 24, 2003 the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes approved a modification of Development District No. 1 and the adoption of a Tax Increment Financing Plan for TIF District No. 1 -1 1 on a portion of the Site; and WHEREAS, Legacy Holdings Lino Lakes, LLC has submitted a preliminary plat for the Site consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and has asked for public assistance in the development of the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota as follows: 1. The city clerk - treasurer is authorized and directed to prepare a notice for publication in the official newspaper setting a public hearing before the city council to consider this matter on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. The notice shall be published in the newspaper at least 10 but not more than 30 days prior to the public hearing. 2. The city staff and consultants are authorized and directed to take any and all other actions necessary to bring this matter before the city council at the time of the public hearing. Council decision on Development Agreement • • • AGENDA ITEM 6G STAFF ORIGINATOR: Mary Alice Divine DATE: 9/13/04 TOPIC: Resolution No. 04 -135 calling for a public hearing to Consider a Development Agreement with Legacy Holdings Lino Lakes, LLC BACKGROUND: The Hartford Group is proposing to develop Legacy at Woods Edge, a mixed use town center development on the southeast quadrant of 35E /Lake Drive. A portion of the development is within Redevelopment Tax Increment Financing District No. 1 -11. City staff and the city's financial and legal consultants have been working with Hartford Group to develop a package for financial assistance to the project to assist with improvements to Lake Drive /35W interchange area, land write down and extraordinary site improvement costs. This resolution calls for a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2004 in the council chambers to consider the development agreement. OPTIONS: 1. Adopt Resolution No. 04 -135 calling for a public hearing. 2. Return to staff for further consideration RECOMMENDATION: Option 1
