265 <br />COUNCIL MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 25, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Bisel at 6:30 P.M., Monday, February 25, 1991. <br />Council Members present: Neal, Bisel, Kuether, Reinert. Council <br />Members absent: Bohjanen. City Attorney, Bill Hawkins; <br />Engineer's, Darrell Schneider and Dan Boxrud; Planner, John <br />Miller; Police Chief, Dean Campbell; Administrator, Randy <br />Schumacher and Clerk - Treasurer Marilyn Anderson, were also <br />present. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />Council Member Reinert moved to approve the Consent Agenda as <br />presented. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />MINUTES <br />DISBURSEMENTS <br />REGULAR AGENDA <br />OPEN MIKE <br />ITEM <br />Council Work Session, <br />February 11, 1991 <br />Regular Council Meeting, <br />February 11, 1991 <br />DISPOSITION <br />Approved <br />Approved <br />February 25, 1991 Approved <br />Centennial Fire District Approved <br />Senator Gregg Dahl - Senator Dahl introduced his new bride. He <br />told the Council that he was elected Chairman of the Senate <br />Education Committee. Senator Dahl helped author an education <br />equity funding bill and introduced it into the legislature. He <br />noted that this bill has the support of more the one half of all <br />the state school districts. In addition, Governor Carlson has <br />recommended substantial equity funding. This should translate <br />into substantial tax relief and provide more funding for <br />students. <br />The State of Minnesota is projecting a revenue shortfall for the <br />1992/1993 biennium. There is a constitutional requirement that <br />the state prepare a balanced budget. Therefore Governor Carlson <br />is making several recommendations to balance this budget. These <br />recommendations include reducing /eliminating Local Government <br />Aid. All proposals will be reviewed and then a sensible budget <br />will be fashioned. <br />Mayor Bisel said he was pleased that Senator Dahl is supporting <br />PAGE 1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
