SEPTEMBER 18, 1975 <br />A Special Meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order at <br />7:30 P.M. on September 18, 1975 by Mayor Bohjanen. Councilmen present: <br />Jaworski. Absent: Marier, McLean and Zelinka. Mr. Locher was also present. <br />This early meeting had been called for the express purpose of discussing the <br />proposed Union Contract as submitted by representatives for the Police <br />Department. Chief Myhre sat in on the conference. <br />Mr. Larry Bastaii , Union Representative, arrived late. He said that he <br />had just finished a negotiating session to finalize the 1975 Police Contracts <br />that had been in dispute. <br />He reported that the top Patrolman's salary would be around $1,200.00 <br />per month, retroactive to January 1, 1975, and increse to around $1,230.00 <br />per month on July 1, 1975. <br />Mr. stated that all Patrolmen are on probation for one year after <br />completion of BCA. The starting wage for new partolmen is between $880.00 <br />and $950.00 per month. This is withour certification. <br />The salary raises are computed on the 6 months, 12 months, 2 years and <br />3 years basis. <br />There was discussion on the need to change the City Police Ordinance to <br />conform with this contract. Mr. Jaworski asked if the Ordinance can <br />be changed by Resolution and Mr. Locher said that it could. <br />The contract was then discussed by Article beginning at the beginning. <br />Mr. Locher asked about the insurance portion and Mr. Britain said that <br />any City employee could become a member of the plan. <br />The matter of seniority and the means of computing was discussed. The <br />Article on discipline was discussed with a fifth catagory of "suspension" <br />to be added. <br />Chief Myhre said that sometimes, in lieu of suspension, he has given the <br />patrolman extra duty without pay with the employee's co- operation. <br />The matter of overtime being paid in wages rather than compensotory time <br />was also discussed. <br />Since a budget meeting was scheduled for 8:00 P.M. this evening it was agreed <br />to set a meeting for Wendesday, September 24, 1975 at 7:30 P.M. for negotations <br />on this contract. In the meantime, Mr. Baustain will deliver a copy of the <br />new wage schedule to the office for distribution to all Council Members. <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1975 <br />The special meeting of the Lino Lakes City Council was called to order <br />at 7:45 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen. Council members present: McLean, Zelinka. <br />Absent: Marier and Jaworski. <br />Mayor Bohjanen said the purpose of this meeting is to consider the wage <br />scale and cost factor as presented in the contract submitted by the Union <br />for the Police Department. Mr. Larry Bastain;, Union Representative was <br />to attend this meeting but had not arrived. Chief Myhre was present. <br />
