RESOLUTION NO. 03-27
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT
BLACK DUCK LIFT STATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of the Black
Duck Lift Station, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, it appears that Northdale Construction Co., Inc., of Rogers,
Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The mayor and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the attached
contract with Northdale Construction Co., Inc., of Rogers, Minnesota in the name of
the City of Lino Lakes for the improvement of the Black Duck Lift Station according
to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the city council and on file in
the office of the city clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and
the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 24th day of February, 2003.

awarding contract for the Black Duck Lift
Station
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
The City Council approved the plans and specification and authorized staff to advertise
for bids to reconstruct the Black Duck Lift Station at the January 13, 2003 City Council
meeting. Bids were opened on February ,13, 2003 for the project. The Engineers
estimated construction cost was $321,500.00.
Five bids were received for the project as follows:

The low bid of $289,920.01 was received from Northdale Construction Co., Inc. The
bid amount is 9.8% under the engineers estimate and $78,579.99 under the low bid,
previously rejected in August of 2002.
The project is being funded from the City's Trunk Utility Area and Unit Fund. SEH, Inc.,
the City's Engineering Consultant for the project is recommending award of the contract
to Northdale Construction Company, Inc., for the bid amount of $289,920.01.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution Number 03 -27, Accepting Bids and Awarding Contract for the Black
Duck Lift Station project.
