RESOLUTION NO. 03-32
RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUMMARY OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE
(ORD. NO. 08-03) FOR PUBLICATION
WHEREAS, the City Council approved a new Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 08 -03,
on March 10, 2003, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 08 -03 is lengthy and MN statute 412.191 provides for a city
to publish a summary of an ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the summary clearly informs the public of
the intent and effect of the ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the publication in the official newspaper will include a notice that a full
printed copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council approves the summary
in Attachment A for publication according to state law and the City Charter.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 10th day of March, 2003.

THE LINO LAKES ZONING ORDINANCE
The City Council of Lino Lakes hereby ordains that Ordinance No. 08 -03 replace the
previous Zoning Ordinance which was adopted on July 14, 1997.

This is a summary of Ordinance 08 -03. A complete copy of the Ordinance is available

ACTION REQUIRED: 4/5 vote
BACKGROUND
The City must publish all ordinances. The Zoning Ordinance (Ord. No. 08 -03) is lengthy
and the cost of publishing the entire Ordinance would be excessive. State statute
(412.191) allows a city to publish a summary of an ordinance rather than the entire
ordinance.
The attached Resolution No. 03 -32 includes a summary of the ordinance and approves
the use of the summary for publication.
OPTIONS
1. Approve Resolution No. 03 -32 to authorize publication of a summary of the
subdivision ordinance.
2. Return to staff with direction.
