HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-063 Council Resolution• • • Council Member Carlson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 01-63 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION OF ABATEMENT, 752 MAIN STREET WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has levied an assessment for improvements on 752 Main Street for payable 2001 -2015 taxes, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to abate a specific assessment known as a special assessment for PIN 08- 31 -22 -11 -0003, and WHEREAS, the assessment should be abated from Anoka County Assessment Fund Numbers 83160 and 83161, and WHEREAS, the total assessment should be reduced to zero for 752 Main Street, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: 1. The City Engineer is directed to make application for abatement to Anoka County for: Reducing the total assessment to zero for 752 Main Street Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 23`d day of Ap Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk n J rgeson, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Dahl and upon vote being taken theron, the following voted in favor thereof: Bergeson, Carlson, Dahl, O'Donnell, Reinert The following voted against the same: none Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk AGENDA ITEM 1D STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer COUNCIL MEETING DATE: April 23, 2001 TOPIC: Resolution No. 01 -63, Authorizing Application of Abatement, 75 Main Street VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required 2 BACKGROUND: The property on the southwest corner of Lake Drive and Main Street, 7997 Lake Drive, petitioned to connect to City utilities and authorized the City to collect the assessments with the property taxes. When the assessments were certified to Anoka County, the City Engineer used the wrong PIN number for this assessment and it was instead placed on 752 Main Street. The proposed resolution authorizes Anoka County to abate the total assessment on this property. We will also process the necessary paperwork with the County to re- certify the assessment amount to the proper PIN number. OPTIONS: 1. Approve Resolution No. 01 -63, Authorizing Application of Abatement 2. Refer to staff for further review. RECOMMENDATION: Option No. 1
