The continued hearing for consideration of utilities for the Lexington Park Lakeview
area was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Bohjanen. Members present; Karth, Mc-
Lean, Schneider. Mr. Zelinka will be late. Mr. Locher and Mr. Carley were also pre-
sent.
Mayor Bohjanen reminded the residents this a a continued meeting for the purpose of
considering this petition. Mayor Bohjanen asked Mr. Locher to present the legal require-
ments of this effort.
Mr. Locher read the legal notice that had been published and mailed to all property owners
in the area. He also told the people present that a decision must be made by May 16,
1977 or the matter will be dropped.
Mr. Carley said that most people had been present at the January meeting and are aware
of the cost estimates. He also told them there are no Federal Grants available, and
he has no new information to present except that possibly the cost figures would be high-
er now then at the time presented.
Mayor Bohjanen said the Council members had checked the survey results that had been pre-
sented to them in January. From the answers on the survey, it would seem the biggest
objection is the cost.
Mr. Schneider asked about the new programs - is there a possibility of Federal Aid under
one of these programs? Mr. Carley said, Yes. Mr. Schneider asked about the State in-
terest in serving the MMTC; Mr. Carley said the interest is still there. Mr. Schneider
asked if the reduction in cost to the residents had been computed if this facility is
included and Mr. Carley said about 5 %. Mr. Schneider asked about the Blain joint water
project and was told it was dead.
Mr. Davis, Sunrise Avenue said he had not had any contact from person wanting to change
their position since the survey. Another lady said this would force them to sell their
home.
Mr. Zelinka arrived at 8:20 P.M.
Mr. Schneider noted that the cost to be assessed against the Park had not been resolved.
On a show of hands, approximately 95% of the people present were against the project.
Mr. Schneider moved to deny the petition for utilities in the Lexington Park Lakeview
area. Seconded by Mr. Zelinka. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Schneider asked for permission to order the sattelites presented on the requisition
at the last Council meeting and was held. The Council gave oral approval.
Mr. Locher presented a petition to correct the spelling of three lakes: Marshan; George
Watch and Rondeau. Mr. Zelinka moved to petition Anoka County to correct the spelling
of the lakes as listed above. Seconded by Mr. McLean. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. McLean moved to adjourn at 8:30 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Schneider. Aye.
