The December 13th meeting of the Lino Lakes Council was called to order
at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Domning. All members present.
Backlin moved, Speiser seconded, that minutes be approved as read, motion
carried.
Rezoning request on property of Vivian Rehbein, 6101 Hodgson Rd., was.
heard. Speiser moved we set the hearing for the 10th of January. Backlin
seconded. Motion approved.
Ross moved we receive the F,pplication of Nathe Bros., for a liquor li-
cense, and after a recommendation by the Police Department, and compli-
ance by Nathe with bonding and insurance requirements, that we consider
approval at our last meeting in December. Backlin seconded. Motion
carried.
Mayor Burque from Centerville submitted a new fire contract for consi-
deration.
Mr. Weiner protested the ,I50 fee required for moving a garage into the
village, and after discussion of the ordinance, it was determined by
motion that he should comply with the ordinance, however, his check
would be held pending decision by the Zoning Committee to amend the or-
dinance to a graduate scale depending on the size of the building.
Pete Scherer questioned the roadwork on 64th Street, whether •the water
could be drained away and the road be gravelled before colder winter
weather. Mr. Backlin instructed the engineer to check on this situa-
tion immediately.
Domning moved to have the Clerk write Mrs. Dahinden indicating the
feeling of the Council toward purchasing her lot for drainage purposes
on Lakeview Ave. Z.elinka seconded. Motion carried.
Treasurer's report was read.
Letter from Bruce Fleming soliciting dog control business was read, and
will be considered at the first meeting in January.
Mr. Backlin reported that snow fencing for this winter had been obtained
Also asked the Planning and Zoning Committee to seriously consider adopt-
ing the ordinance used by Little Canada to help control maintenance and
care of village streets and roads used by outside contractors.
Backlin also instructed the engineer to check out 'Jest Rondo Lake Road
immediately since no graveling had been done yet, and to consider some
action to be taken immediately to help drain off the water.
Ross suggested we hold a meeting on Friday the 17th with the Auditor to
go over the audit report. Clerk will check on this date.
Ross also reported he had talked to Mr. Brisson of the Hospital Board,
that their meeting will be on the 20th of December, at which time they
will appoint a Lino Lakes Representative to their board.
Domning moved we appoint Peter Scherer to the Civil Service Board fol-
lowing Mr. Backlin's resignation. Second by Ross, carried.

Letter from Circle Pines Utilities was read by Mr. Gibas and discuswed.
Additional names on the petition for a franchise with North Central was
submitted to the Council.

SPECIAL MEETING on December 21, 1965 was called to order at 8 :00 p.m.
The Nathe Brothers were present asking for a liquor license. The
police stated they had inspected the premises as remodeled and found
them to be satisfactory. The Nathe's wish to stay open on Sunday and
it was recommended by the police they preferred them to stay closed.
However, if open, to sell beer only and no set ups. After considerable
discussion, Speiser moved we grant the license to be effective on
January 1, 1966. On the vote, Ross yes, Speiser, yes, Backlin no,
Zelinka yes, Domning yes.
Another proposal was presented to the Council by Bill Bohjanen in behalf
of the Lino Lakes Citizen's Committee, which will be turned over to the
Village Attorney for his examination.
Meeting adjourned 9:30 p.m.
