Director Michael Grochala; City Clerk Julie Bartell
2. Advisory Board Appointments — City Administrator Karlson reviewed the openings
and applicants as outlined in the staff report. Staff is requesting council direction as to
the process the council will use to consider appointments.
The council concurred to conduct interviews at a special session to be held before the
regular council meeting on January 12.
The council also noted plans to hold a meeting with the advisory boards; they will
continue that discussion at the next work session.
1. Review Regular Council Agenda of 12-15-14 —
Items 4A and 4B — Participation in Anoka County Fire Protection Council Joint
Powers Agreement (JPA) and Anoka County Mutual Aid Agreement — Mayor
Reinert noted that, after discussion of these agreements at the last council meeting, the
council received additional information from Police Chief Swenson that answered
questions. Looking at the JPA, it is clear there is benefit to the city in joining and that
there will be an out if that is necessary in the future. The council has certainly attempted
to think through any issues that could arise.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
