HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/25/1996 Council Minutes• • • SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 25, 1996 DATE TIME STARTED TIME ENDED MEMBERS PRESENT MEMBERS ABSENT CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNCIL MINUTES : March 25, 1996 . 5:30 P.M. . 5:58 P.M. : Bergeson, Kuether, Lyden, Neal, Landers : None Staff members present: Clerk -Treasurer, Marilyn Anderson The purpose of the special meeting was to consider annual appointments to the Planning and Zoning Board, Parks and Recreation Board and the Circle Pines Utility Commission. The City Council previously interviewed all candidates for these boards and commission. A Checklist for Criteria for Advisory Boards form containing scores for each candidate was to be completed by each Council Member. Each Council Member prepared scores for each candidate for each board or commission and gave the score sheets to Mrs. Anderson so that she could prepare a total sheet for each candidate. Three candidates for the Planning and Zoning Board with the three highest scores would then be appointed to that board. Three candidates for the Parks and Recreation Board with the three highest scores would be appointed to that board. The one candidate with the highest score for the Circle Pines Utility Commission would be appointed to this commission. Each Council Member gave Mrs. Anderson their score sheets and she prepared the final tally. The following three candidates for the Planning and Zoning Board received the three highest scores: Gene Lane Judi Braun Caroline Dahl The following three candidates for the Parks and Recreation Board received the three highest scores: Paul Montain George Lindy Joe Schmidt PAGE 1 SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 25, 1996 The following candidate for the Circle Pines Utility Commission received the highest score: Gene Lane The City Council discussed whether or not to give two positions to the same candidate. The decision, although not unanimous, was to be sure that as many residents as possible have the chance to serve on the boards or commissions. Therefore, it was determined that Vernon Reinert be the candidate for the Circle Pines Utility Commission. The meeting adjourned at 5:58 P.M.
