TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING Finance Director Rolek reviewed the city's proposed 2008 Operating Budget and Property Tax Levy using a PowerPoint Presentation (on file). Mayor Bergeson explained that the purpose of the hearing is to take comment on the proposed 2008 budget; there will be an opportunity at the Board of Review meeting to receive comments on valuation. Mayor Bergeson opened the public hearing at 6:25 p.m. Bruce Hanson, 6980 Lake Drive, voiced concern about more tax revenue being used to expand city operations at a time when foreclosure rates are at an all time high. There was no one else present wishing to comment. Council Member Stoltz moved to close the public hearing at 6:28 p.m. Council Member Carlson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Finance Director Rolek explained that final approval of the 2008 budget will be under consideration by the council at their next regular meeting. There being no further business, Council Member O'Donnell moved to adjourn at 6:30 p.m. Council Member Reinert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
