HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/10/2008 Council Minutes• • APPROVED CITY OF LINO LAKES MINUTES CANVASSING BOARD DATE : November 10, 2008 TIME STARTED : 6:20 p.m. TIME ENDED : 6:27 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT : Council Members Gallup, O'Donnell, Reinert, Stoltz and Mayor Bergeson MEMBERS ABSENT : none Staff members present: City Administrator, Gordon Heitke; Deputy City Clerk, Jean Viger; and City Clerk, Julie Bartell Deputy Clerk Viger reviewed the Election Summary Report of the special election held on November 4, 2008 outlining the results of the city question on an amendment to the city charter. She explained that Minnesota Statutes require that the governing body of any city that conducts an election must canvass the returns of that election and declare the results within seven days. Along with the summary report, the council was provided with a copy of the voting machine tapes showing the votes on the charter amendment question. Canvassing Board Member Gallup moved to accept the November 4, 2008 Election Summary Report, as presented. Canvassing Board Member Stoltz seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Deputy Clerk Viger announced that she had received notification from Anoka County that Lino Lakes Precinct 4 would be audited. Several precincts throughout the county area randomly selected for audit as a standard practice each election. Being no further business, Canvassing Board Member O'Donnell moved to adjourn at 6:27 p.m. Canvassing Board Member Gallup seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
