CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 01-76
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STIPEND FOR ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN
WHEREAS, the Public Administration program at St. Cloud State University has interns
for 2001 summer placement, and
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has agreed to provide an internship for Mr. Neal
Haglin who is a senior at St. Cloud State University, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Haglin's internship will last approximately ten weeks during which time
he will assist with administrative tasks.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes City Council
authorizes a stipend of $2,000.00 to be granted to Neal Haglin in exchange for his
contributions during his Summer 2001 public administration internship.

The motion for the adoption of the fo e ►_oing resolution was duly seconded by Council
Member Carlson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: Bergeson, Carlson, Dahl, O'Donnell, and Reinert
The following voted against the same: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 01-76 Authorizing Stipend for
Administrative Intern
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
BACKGROUND:
On May 16, 2001, the city administrator reported to the City Council the availability of
public administration interns from St. Cloud State University for the ten -week summer
session. At that time council members gave their verbal approval to engage an intern and
pay the intern a stipend.
Mr. Neal Haglin, a senior in the public administration program, has started his internship
and will assist with administrative tasks agreed upon by the city and the program advisor.
Staff is requesting formal authorization for a $2,000 stipend to be paid in five equal
installments during the course of the internship. In the event the internship is shortened
for any reason, the stipend amount will be prorated.
OPTIONS:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 01-76 authorizing payment of a stipend to Mr. Neal Haglin.
2. Decline to adopt Resolution No. 01-76 authorizing payment of a stipend to Mr.
Neal Haglin.
3. Return to staff for further review and/or action.
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Option #1: Adopt Resolution No. 01-76 authorizing payment of a stipend to Mr.
Neal Haglin.
