VISIONING PROCESS/COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
Ms.Divine informed members about the plans for the upcoming community visioning process
called Spotlight on 2030.This is the second of a three-step process, that started with the
community survey. Visioning will be a 3 -month process that will be facilitated by Carl Neu, who
led the last visioning in 1996. The core group will consist of 30-40 residents who will be selected
from a random sample. They will be guided by Mr. Neu and divided into small groups to focus
on a specific topic. Two all-community forums will be held Oct. 10 and 12.
A final vision document and strategic plan will be completed and presented to the council in
December.Once complete, the city will move into the Comprehensive Plan update, which is due
for completion in 2008. DSU is the consulting firm selected to do the Comp Plan. The Comp
Plan Task Force is expected to comprise of at least two members from each city board and
committee, as well as selected members from the visioning committee.EDAC members should
consider whether they are willing to represent the committee on the Comp Plan task force.
