RESOLUTION NO. 14-80
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR
BLUE HERON DAYS FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, The 11th Annual Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days Festival will be held
August 15-17, 2014; and
WHEREAS, There are many popular events including the parade, Movie in the Park at
Lino Park, Quad Chamber Business Expo, American Legion Family Picnic, YMCA
Splash and Dash, Kiddie Carnival, Lions Petting Zoo, Centennial Fire Open House,
CERT Team Blood Drive, Blue Out 5K Fun Run, and the Lino Lakes Ambassador
Coronation; and
WHEREAS, The following organizations have graciously donated funds to help make
Blue Heron Days a success:
Twin Cities Gateway $6,552
Blaine Festival $5,000
EJM Pipe Services, Inc. $1,000
Teknapack, Inc. $ 500
Creative Kids Academy $ 200
E.G. Rud & Sons, Inc. $ 200
F&MBank $ 200
HealthPartners-Lino Lakes Clinic $ 200
Metro Dentalcare $ 200
Pat -A -Cake Child Care, Inc. $ 200
AFSCME Local #2454 $ 200
American Legion Post 566 $ 100
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino
Lakes hereby accepts the donations to help fund the Blue Heron Days Festival and wishes
to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to these organizations for their donations.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 28th day of July, 2014.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council
Member Stoesz and was duly seconded by Council Member Rafferty and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Stoesz, Rafferty, Kusterman, Roeser

Festival Donations

INTRODUCTION
The 11th Annual Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days Festival will be held August 15-17. There are
many fantastic events that the Public Services Department has been coordinating. This year's
Grand Marshall is Steve Thomas who is a local freelance illustrator/graphic artist. Mr. Thomas
has created artwork under such licenses as Star Wars, Disney, Fox, Star Trek, The Muppets and
Marvel. The parade will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 11:OOam on Lake Drive and feature
the River City Rhythm Drumline.
Other popular events include the street dance on Friday and Saturday night at Tavern on Main,
Movie in the Park (Despicable Me 2) at Lino Park, Quad Chamber Business Expo, American
Legion Family Picnic, YMCA Splash and Dash, Kiddie Carnival, Lions Petting Zoo,
Centennial Fire Open House, CERT Team Blood Drive, Blue Out 5K Fun Run and much more!
The Lino Lakes Ambassador Coronation is held on Sunday of that weekend to crown next
year's Ambassadors.
