RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS, ACCEPTING BIDS, AND AWARDING
A CONSTRUCTION CON TRACT, NORTHPOINTE STREET AND UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the NorthPointe Street
and Utility Improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, it appears that Kuechle Underground, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes:
1. The NorthPointe Street and Utility Improvement Project is hereby ordered as proposed in
Petition and Waiver Agreement, dated August 11, 2014, between the City and Tony
Emmerich Construction, Inc.
2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with
Kuechle Underground, Inc., in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of
the NorthPointe Street and Utility Improvements according to the plans and specifications
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid
Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 1 3 day of Oct , 2014.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Roeser and was duly seconded by Council Member Kusterman and upon
vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Roeser, Kusterman, Rafferty, Stoesz, Reinert

INTRODUCTION
Staff is requesting authorization to order the improvement, accept bids and award bids for the NorthPointe
Street and Utility Improvement Project contract.
BACKGROUND
Bids were received for the above -referenced project on Thursday, October 9, 2014, and were
opened and read aloud. Fifteen bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical
accuracy and tabulated.

The low bid as submitted by Kuechle Underground, Inc., Kimball, Minnesota, in the amount of
$832,964.00.
The completion date for this project is August 15, 2015.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 14-122 Ordering Improvement, Accepting bids and Awarding
a Construction Contract for the NorthPointe Street and Utility Improvement Project, in the amount of
$832,964.00 to Kuechle Underground, Inc.
