RESOLUTION NO. 14-126
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE IMPROVEMENT, ACCEPTING BIDS, AND
AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, WELL NO. 6
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of Well No.6, bids were
received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying
with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, it appears that Keys Well Drilling Company is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes:
1. The Well No. 6 Project is hereby ordered as proposed in Resolution No. 14-108, adopted
by the Council on September 22, 2014.
2. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Keys
Well Drilling Company on behalf of the City of Lino Lakes in the amount of $176,950.00
for the construction of the Well No. 6 Improvements according to the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid
Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 27th day of October, 2014.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Kusterman and was duly seconded by Council Member Roeser

INTRODUCTION
Staff is requesting authorization to order the improvement, accept bids and award bids for the
Well No. 6 contract.
BACKGROUND
Sealed bids were received and publically opened for the above -referenced project on Wednesday,
October 22, 2014. The results of the bid opening are presented below. City Council action is
required to award a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder.

The low bid as submitted by Keys Well Drilling Company of St. Paul, Minnesota in the amount
of $176,950.00. The Engineer's estimated construction cost for the project was $200,000.00.
The completion date for this project is March 31, 2015.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 14-126.

Dear Honorable Mayor and City Council:
Bids were opened for the Project stated above on October 22, 2014. Transmitted herewith is a
copy of the Bid Tabulation for your information and file. Copies will also be distributed to each
Bidder once the Project has been awarded.
There were a total of 2 Bids. The following summarizes the results of the Bids received:

The low Bidder on the Project was Keys Well Drill Company with a Total Base Bid Amount of
$176,950.00. These Bids have been reviewed and found to be in order.
If the City Council wishes to award the Project to the low Bidder, then Keys Well Drill Company
should be awarded the Project on the Total Base Bid Amount of $176,950.00.
