Council Member PelNi-V-r- introduced the following ordinance and moved
its adoption:
ORDINANCE NO. 04-2001
CITY OF LINO LAKES
ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES PERTAINING TO ACCESSORY BUILDINGS IN THE COMMERCIAL
AND INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICTS
The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby ordains as follows:
Section 1. Section 3, Subdivision 4.D. Accessory Building & Structure shall be
amended by adding:
9. Commercial and Industrial Zoning Districts. The following summarizes the
maximum number, size, and height of accessory buildings allowed in the commercial and
industrial zoning districts.
a. Only one (1) accessory building shall be allowed not to exceed four hundred
(400) square feet except when intended for storage of buses per Sec. 3 Subd.
4.B.2.b.
b. Building setbacks shall not exceed base district requirement.
c. Building height shall be limited to 12 feet maximum except when intended for
storage of buses per Sec. 3. Subd. 4.B.2.b.
d. Metal buildings and pole barns are prohibited except when intended for
storage of buses per Sec. 3. Subd. 4.B.2.b.
e. Roof and exterior color and material shall be compatible with the principal
structure.
f. Accessory buildings on commercial/industrial sites shall be limited to typical
accessory storage uses, no auxiliary commercial/industrial use shall be
allowed within an accessory storage building.
g.
Site and building plan review shall not be required for accessory building
construction as an accessory building that meets the requirements listed herein
shall be considered a minor project for the purposes of Sec. 2. Subd.5.A..
h. Accessory buildings shall not be located within an easement.
i. If the principal building is expanded to cover more of the lot, the accessory
building shall be removed if the intended need no longer exists.
j. Building permits shall be required as regulated by the Uniform Building Code.
Section 2. Section 7, Subd.l .G.of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (NB District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 3. Section 7, Subd.2.G.of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (LB District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 4. Section 7, Subd.3.G.of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (GB District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:
6. Accessory building and structure per Section 3. Subd. 4.D.9.
Section 5. Section 7, Subd.4.G. of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (CB District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 6. Section 8, Subd.1.H.of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (LI District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 7. Section 8, Subd.2.H.of the Lino Lakes Zoning Ordinance (GI District
Accessory Uses) is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 8.This Ordinance shall become effective 30 days after publication in
accordance with the City Charter.
ADOPTED by the Lino Lakes City Council this day of
2001.
