AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE MINNESOTA STATE BUILDING CODE:
PROVIDING FOR IT'S ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT: REGULATING
THE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARGEMENT, ALTERATION, REPAIR,
MOVING, REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, CONVERSION, OCCUPANCY, EQUIPMENT,
USE, HEIGHT, AREA AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL BUILDINGS AND/OR
STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF LINO LAKES: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE
OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFORE; PROVIDING PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF: AMENDING SECTION 1003.01 OF THE LINO
LAKES CODE AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes ordains:
Section 1. Section 1003.01 of the Lino Lakes City Code is
amended to read as follows:
Section 1003.01. Building Code. The Minnesota State
Building Code, established pursuant to Mn. Stats. 16B.60
through 16B.73, one copy of which is on file in the office
of the City Clerk of Lino Lakes is hereby adopted as the
building code for the City of Lino Lakes. Such code is
hereby incorporated in this ordinance as completely as if
set out in full.
A. The following chapters of the code shall be administered
by the municipality:
1. Chapter 1300 - Code Administration.
2. Chapter 1305 - Adoption of 1985 Uniform
by Reference.
a. Required Provisions - UBC Appendix
3. Chapter 1315, Electrical Code.
4. Chapter 1320, Elevators and Related
Moving Walks).
5. Chapter 1325, Solar Energy Systems.
6. Chapter 1330, Technical Requirements
Shelters.
7. Chapter 1340,
8. Chapter 1345,
Conditioning,
9. Chapter 1350,
10. Chapter 1355,
11. Chapter 1360,
12. Chapter 1365,
13. Chapter 4215,
Building
Chapter
Code
35.
Machines (Lifts,
for Fallout
Facilities for the Handicapped.
Minnesota Heating, Ventilating,
and Refrigeration Code.

Appendix 70 may be adopted with a revised fee schedule
and bonding requirements.

Section 2. Organization and Enforcement. The organization
of the Building Department and enforcement of the Code shall be
as established by Chapter 2 of the Uniform Building Code 1985
Edition. The Code shall be enforced within the incorporated
limits of the City.
Section 3.
A. Permits, Inspections and Fees. Permits, inspections,
and collection of fees shall be as provided in Chapter 3 of
the Uniform Building Code, 1985 Edition.
B. Surcharge. In addition to the permit fee required by
item 1 above, the applicant shall pay a surcharge to be
remitted to the Minnesota Department of Administration as
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes 1984, Section 16B,70.
Section 4. Effective Date of Ordinance. The effective date
of this Ordinance shall be thirty (30) days after its passage
and publication by the Lino Lakes City Council. Passed this

Council.
