HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-101 Council Resolution• • • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 14-101 RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR THE NORTHPOLNTE ROADWAY AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS. the City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for the NorthPointe Roadway and Utility Improvement Project and has presented such plans and specifications to the Cit) Council for approval: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City_ of Lino Lakes_. Minnesota: Such plans and specifications. a copy of which is on file at City Hall. are hereby approved. The City Engineer is directed to advertise for bids. provide construction observation. and close out the project once h is complete, and shall be paid by the hour in an amount not to exceed S28.500. The City clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in Finance and Commerce an advertisement for bids for the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for two weeks. shall specif) the work to be done. shall state that bids will be received by the Clerk. at which time they will be publicly opened at the Cite Hall by the City Clerk and Engineer. will then be tabulated. and will be considered by the Council at 6:30 p.m. on October 13. 2014. in the Council chambers of the City Hall. Cite Engineer MEETING DATE: September 8. 2014 TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 14-101 Approving Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Advertisement for Bids. NorthPointe Roadway and Utility Improvement Project VOTE REQUIRED: INTRODUCTION 3/5 Vote Required Staff is requesting Council approval of plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for the NorthPointe Roadway and Utility Improvement Project. BACKGROUND The NorthPointe developer. Tone Emmerich. has requested that the City prepare the plans and specification, and bidding documents per Minnesota Statutes. Chapter 429 for the first phases of the development. The developer has entered into a petition and waiver and deposit agreement for the project to be assessed to benefitting properties. The proposed project budget for the improvements is $1.120.000. WSB and Associates. has completed the plans and specifications for the NorthPointe Roadway and Utility Improvement Project. The estimated schedule for this project is as follows: Cite Council Authorizes Plans and Specifications City Council Approves Plans and Specifications City Council Authorizes Ad for Bids Cite Open Bids City Council Awards Contract Construction Begins RECOMMENDATION August 11. 2014 September 8. 2014 September 8. 2014 October 6. 2014 October 13. 2014 October 20. 2014 Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 14-101 Authorizing the Preparation of Plans and Specifications for the NorthPointe Roadway and Utility Improvement Project.
