CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 01-128 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR SKATE PARK PAD WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has attempted to provide residents an opportunity to enjoy a skate park since 1998, and WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has purchased equipment for a skate park facility at City Hall Park, and WHEREAS, donations were received from the following businesses and organizations to fund the construction of a bituminous pad: Forest Lake Area Athletic Association (FLAAA) $2,000 Friends of The Park Foundation $1,000 Lino Lakes VFW Auxiliary $1,000 Lino Lakes Lions Club $ 750 Centennial Fire District $ 500 Mr. Kieger and area youth $ 430 Lino Lakes VFW $ 300 Lino Lakes State Bank $ 250 Community National Bank $ 200 Custom Remodelers $ 100 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, the Council graciously accepts the above listed donations that helped make the skate park facility a reality. Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 10th day of September, 2001. AGENDA ITEM NO. 6A STAFF ORIGINATOR: Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director COUNCIL MEETING DATE: September 10, 2001 TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution 01-128, Accepting Donations for Skate Park Pad VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority BACKGROUND: The Skate Park at City Hall Park has been operational since August 27, 2001. Twenty Thousand dollars of Park Dedication Funds were designated to purchase a variety of skate park equipment including a 9' wide quarter pipe, 6' wide wedge attached to a 3' wide quarter pipe, fun box, 4' wide jump, and a straight -round rail. Donations were received from the following to fund the construction of a 60' x 80' bituminous pad: Forest Lake Area Athletic Association (FLAAA) $2,000 Friends of the Park Foundation $1,000 Lino Lakes VFW Auxiliary $1,000 Lino Lakes Lions Club $ 750 Centennial Fire District $ 500 Mr. Kieger and area youth $ 430 Lino Lakes VFW $ 300 Lino Lakes State Bank $ 250 Community National Bank $ 200 Custom Remodelers $ 100 $6,530 On behalf of the City Council, Park Board, city staff, and area youth, I would like to extend our appreciation to the area businesses and groups who contributed financially to make this project a reality.
