HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-129 Council ResolutionCouncil Member O'Donnell adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved its CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 01-129 RESOLUTION TO SET PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT OF DELINQUENT SEWER AND WATER UTILITY BILLS WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has established a quarterly billing system for sewer and water utility service for residential and commercial users, and, WHEREAS, certain residential and/or commercial users have not paid their quarterly utility billing in a timely manner, and WHEREAS, the city code provides for assessment of all delinquent sewer and water utility billings, NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. City staff is directed to prepare an assessment roll of the delinquent sewer and water utility bills as required in Chapter 400 of the City Code. 2. A hearing shall be held on October 22, 2001, in the city hall, 600 Town Center Parkway , Lino Lakes, Minnesota, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon as can be reached on the agenda, to pass upon such proposed assessments and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by such assessment will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. 3. The City Clerk is directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed assessment to be published twice in the official newspaper and shall also cause mailed notice to be given to the owners of each parcel described in the assessment roll. 4. The owner of any property so assessed may at any time prior to the certification of the assessment to the County Auditor, pay the whole of the assessment on such property. Such payment must be made before October 26, 2001. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Resolution No. 01-129 establishes a public hearing date of October 22, 2001. The hearing will give residents an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessments. OPTIONS: 1.
