introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 01-190
RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FINAL 2002 GENERAL OPERATING
BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LINO LAKES.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to State Statute, the Lino Lakes City Council is required to adopt a resolution
setting out final General Fund revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the following final General Fund operating budget be adopted
for 2002:
2002 FINAL GENERAL FUND BUDGET
REVENUES:
Property Taxes $4,901,509
Intergovernmental Revenue 541,553
Licenses and Permits 724,025
Charges for Services 228,500
Fines & Forfeitures 100,000
Interest on Investments 85,000
Miscellaneous 169,000
TOTAL FINAL GENERAL FUND REVENUES $6,749,587
EXPENDITURES:
Administration $1,069,121
Community Development 819,290

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Carlson
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Reinert, Dahl, Bergeson, Carlson & O'Donnell.
The following voted against same:
None.
Where upon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

TOPIC Consideration of adopting Resolution 01-190 adopting the final
2002 General Fund Operating Budget for the City of Lino Lakes
VOTE REQUIRED
BACKGROUND
Simple Majority
State Statutes require the City of Lino Lakes to adopt and certify a final 2002 operating budget on
or before December 28 of each year.
Although the state legislature waived the public hearing requirement for the 2002 budget cycle,
the City Council held a Truth in Taxation public hearing on the budget on December 10. A
summary of the proposed budget was presented and discussed during the public hearing and
public testimony was received.
The final 2002 budget represents an 11.60% increase over the 2001 budget. The City
experienced growth of 13.52% over the same period.
The City Council needs to take final action on the budget at this time. Staff recommendation is to
adopt Resolution 01-190 approving the final 2002 General Fund Operating Budget.
OPTIONS
1. Adopt Resolution 01-190 adopting the final 2002 General Fund Operating Budget.
2. Refer to Staff for further review.
3. Deny Resolution 01-190.
