NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LINO LAKES that the following Recreation Fund Operating Budget for the year 2002 is hereby adopted: 2002 RECREATION FUND BUDGET REVENUES EXPENDITURES Adult Instructional $ 11,000 $ 9,700 Adult Leagues 55,440 47,431 Youth Instructional 122,910 111,245 Youth Leagues 58,100 52,400 Special Events 2,890 5,575 Program Totals $250,340 $226,351 Operating Surplus 0 23,989 Recreation Fund Totals $250,340 $250 340 Adopted by the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, this 10th day of December, 2001. John largeso May Ann Blain, City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Carlson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Reinert, Dahl, Bergeson, Carlson & O'Donnell. The following voted against same: None. Where upon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. A-5 AGENDA ITEM 3C STAFF ORIGINATOR Al Rolek MEETING DATE December 10, 2001 TOPIC Consideration of adopting Resolution 01-192 adopting the 2002 Recreation Fund Operating Budgets VOTE REQUIRED BACKGROUND Simple Majority The City Council reviewed the proposed 2002 Recreation Fund Operating Budgets at their Budget work session held August 24, 2000. The budget being presented for approval has not changed since the work session. The Recreation Fund is a special revenue fund and operates from revenues collected from recreation fees. No part of the tax levy is used to finance Recreation Fund operations. The budget for 2002 estimates that a small surplus of $23,989 will be realized in this fund. It has been the practice of the City Council to adopt the Recreation Fund Operating budgets by resolution. Staff recommendation is to adopt Resolution 01-192 adopting the final 2002 Recreation Fund Operating Budget. OPTIONS 1. Adopt Resolution 01-192 adopting the final 2002 Recreation Fund Operating Budgets. 2. Return to staff for further review. 3. Deny Resolution 01-192. RECOMMENDATION Option 1. A-5
