Non-profit organizations are allowed, under the State Gambling Statutes, to apply for a
temporary license(s) in connection with a social activity occurring within the city and
sponsored by the organization. The City may not issue more than 10 such licenses in any
one-year period. This is the second request the City has received in 2002.
The Circle -Lex Lion's Club has requested a temporary set-up license for an event to be
held on April 13, 2002. The fee for such a license is $25.00, which is set by the State. If
granted, the permit will allow consumption and display of intoxicating liquor, but does
not allow the sale of intoxicating liquor.
The Circle -Lex Lion's Club has also requested a temporary 3.2 beer on -sale license for
their one -day event. The fee for such a license is $40.00 for a one -day event. If granted,
the permit will allow purchase and consumption of 3.2 beer at the event.
Approval of this item is recommended, contingent upon completion of the background
investigation. Resolution No. 02-19 approves the requested temporary licenses.
