HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-038 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 02-38 RENEWAL APPLICATION TO PERMIT GAMBLING AT MILLERS ON MAIN FOR THE CENTENNIAL FIREFIGHTERS RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the City Council of Lino Lakes met at its regularly scheduled meeting Of April 22, 2002; and the Lino Lakes City Council discussed the Lawful Gambling of the Centennial FireFighters Relief Association to conduct gambling at 8001 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes; and the City of Lino Lakes has conducted an investigation of the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association; and • the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association is in compliance with City Ordinance; and the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association appears to take into Consideration the best interests of the City of Lino Lakes, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES hereby approves the charitable gambling activity of pull tabs by the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association at 8001 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes. Background Attached is an application from the Centennial Firefighters Relief Association for approval of their premises permit renewal for their State gambling license for their pull tab operation. The renewal period is two years, as per State guidelines. Also attached is a copy of a memo from the Lino Lakes Police Department indicating that the business and background checks have been completed and the organization is in compliance with City Code.
