HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-080 Council ResolutionCOUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 02-80 RESOLUTION DENYING A PEDDLERS LICENSE WHEREAS, Timothy Lamont Burgess, Austin Diversified Products, has applied for a peddlers license; WHEREAS, Timothy Lamont Burgess, Austin Diversified Products has paid the sum of $250.00 and complied with all of the provisions as required by Ordinance 01-89 of the City of Lino Lakes for obtaining the necessary license for a profit business; WHEREAS, the standard background check performed on all applicants for city licenses and permits resulted in a staff recommendation for denial of the license; NOW, THEREFORE, by order of the Lino Lakes City Council, and virtue thereof, the said business, Austin Diversified Products, is hereby denied authorization to solicit door to door in the City of Lino Lakes. Attached please find a copy of the application. Upon receipt of the application, I requested the Lino Lakes Police Department to do a background check on all sales representatives. Due to the results of the background checks city staff recommends that no license be issued. Results of the backgrounding are filed in the city clerk's office. OPTIONS: 1. Please advise your staff to complete a background check on all sales representatives and let me know the results as soon as possible as I hope to put this on the July 22, 2002 council agenda. In order to place on the agenda I will need the results by this Friday, July 19`h FYI - Austin Diversified Products was licensed in the City last year. Thanks!
