HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-126 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 02 - 126 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT Be it resolved that the City of Lino Lakes enter into a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice, COPS Making Officer Redeployment Effective (MORE) Grant Program - to purchase needed hardware and software that will allow the department to continue its expansion into the area of making information more easily accessible to officers while in their squad cars. David J. Pecchia, Chief of Police is hereby authorized to execute such agreements and amendments, as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of the City of Lino Lakes. Pecchia, Public Safety Director/Chief of Police DATE: September 23, 2002 TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 02-126 Accepting U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services Making Officer Redeployment Effective (MORE) Grant VOTES REQUIRED: 3/5 vote L il BACKGROUND The Lino Lakes Police Department has been selected to receive grant funds in the amount of $12,863.00 to purchase hardware and software that will allow the department to continue its expansion into the area of making information more easily accessible to officers while in their squad cars. We are asking the City Council to accept this grant on behalf of the City of Lino Lakes and the Lino Lakes Police Department. The City's matching funds/local share is 25% which was included in the budget process. LOPTIONS II 1. Adopt Resolution No. 02-126 accepting the grant funds to purchase the needed hardware and software through the COPS Making Officer Redeployment Effective (MORE) grant. 2.
