and moved its adoption:
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 00 - 03
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE CIRCLE -LEX LADIES
AUXILIARY VFW POST #6583 FOR THREE (3) BALLISTICS VESTS
WHEREAS, bullet proof vests (ballistics vests) have become a
standard piece of police equipment due to the ever
increasing violence in our society,
WHEREAS, funding for bullet proof vests are considered a piece
of clothing and thereby not included as a Police
Department budget item,
WHEREAS, the Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 has made
a donation in the amount of $1800.00 to the City of
Lino Lakes for the cost of three (3) ballistic vests;
and
WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in
the following manner:
Increase Revenue - Contributions
Increase Expenditures -Police
Uniforms
$1800.00
$1800.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes
hereby accepts the donation of $1800.00 for the cost of three
bullet proof vests and wishes to express its gratitude to the
Circle -Lex Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #6583 for its donation.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 10th day of January,
2000.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Council Member O'Donnell and upon vote being
taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bergeson,
Carlson, Dahl, O'Connell
The following voted against same: none
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
