and moved its adoption:
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - 12
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION FROM THE CENTENNIAL FIRE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Police Department began teaching the
D.A.R.E. program in local elementary schools in January
of 1995, and the middle school in 1998; and
WHEREAS, the curriculum, developed by educators, is a drug
prevention curriculum taught by specially selected and
trained uniformed police officers; and
WHEREAS, the Centennial Fire District was made aware of the
desire for the Lino Lakes Police Department to teach
this program in the middle school and elementary
schools and has donated $2,000.00 to the City to defer
the cost of this program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lino Lakes
hereby accepts the donation of $2,000.00 toward the cost of the
D.A.R.E. program and wishes to express its gratitude to the
Centennial Fire District for its donation.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 14th day of February,
2000.
