CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 00-33
RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF STUDY FOR THE BLUEBILL PONDS
UTILITY AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND THE MAIN STREET TRUNK UTILITY
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, in response to a petition from property owners located on the south side of
Main Street in an area proposed to be platted into the Bluebill Ponds subdivision, it is
proposed to improve the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8 by
constructing utility and street improvements, and
WHEREAS, in response to a petition from these same property owners, it is proposed to
improve Main Street from Nancy Drive to Wood Duck Trail by constructing trunk sanitary
sewer and watermain improvements, and
WHEREAS, the City proposes to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the
cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, and Chapter 8
of the Lino Lakes City Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. That the proposed improvements be referred to the City Engineer for study and
that he is instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising
the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvements are
feasible and as to whether they should best be made as proposed or in
connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the
improvements as recommended.

TOPIC: Resolution No. 00 -33, Ordering Preparation of a Study for the
Bluebill Ponds Utility and Street Improvements and the Main Street
Trunk Utility Improvements.
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
The City has received a petition from the owners of the property shown on the
attached sketch. This is the property included in the preliminary plat for Bluebill
Ponds. The petition requests sanitary sewer, water, street, and drainage
improvements.
The preliminary plat for Bluebill Ponds will be considered by the Planning and
Zoning Commission on June 14, 2000. Response to the petition will involve both
study of the trunk utility extensions needed to serve the project and study of the
improvements within the subdivision.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution No. 00-33, Ordering Preparation of a Study for the Bluebill
Ponds Utility and Street Improvements and the Main Street Trunk Utility
Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution No. 00-33 be adopted.

RESOLUTION DENYING THE REQUEST FOR A REPORT ON PUBLIC
IMPROVMENTS TO SERVE THE BLUEBILL PONDS AREA.
WHEREAS, a request has been received for a report on public improvements to serve
the Bluebill Ponds area, and
WHEREAS, the City considers this request for improvements as premature,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The request to prepare a report on Public Improvements to serve the Bluebill Ponds
area is denied.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 13th dayf March, 2000.
