RESOLUTION NO. 00-62
RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS — APOLLO DRIVE PHASE 4 IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the Apollo Drive
Phase 4 project, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following
bids were received complying with the advertisement:

S. R. Weidema, Inc. $217,195.05
Midwest Asphalt Corp. $234,481.90
Engineer's Estimate
$233,985.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The bids for the Apollo Drive Phase 4 project are hereby received by the City of Lino Lakes.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 22nd dayof May, 2000.

The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
Sealed bid were received and publicly opened at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2000.
The results of the bid opening are presented below:

Engineer's Estimate
$183,117.50
$217,195.05

$233,985.00
The low bid is approximately 22% below the Engineer's Estimate for this project. A copy
of the complete bid tabulation is attached. The funding for this work is provided by
assessments to the benefiting properties.
The City either needs possession of the right-of-way or a right -of -entry agreement to
proceed with the award of the contract. It is our understanding neither of these has
occurred.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution Number 00-62, receiving bids for the Apollo Drive Phase 4 project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 2 — Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 00-62.
