MEMBERS PRESENT : Barbra Bor, Steve Heiskary, Paula Andrzejewski, Nancie Klebba, Kelly Jo McDonnell MEMBERS ABSENT : Martha DeHaven STAFF PRESENT : Marty Asleson, KC Kye 1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL: Chair Ms. Bor called the Lino Lakes Environmental Board meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. on January 28, 2015. 2. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR Postpone to next meeting. =isisisis�sn. 'sisisisis. °Rgg(S(3;r. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 19, 2014 Mr. Heiskary made a MOTION to approve the November 19, 2014 Meeting Minutes. Motion was seconded by Ms. Andrzejewski. Motion carried 5 - 0. 4. APROVAL OF AGENDA Mr. Asleson would like to remove the Election of Chair and Vice Chair to next month. Ms. Andrzejewski made a MOTION to approve the agenda with the above change. Motion was seconded by Ms. McDonnell. Motion carried 5 — 0. 5. OPEN MIKE Ms. Bor declared Open Mike at 6:36 p.m. and closed at 6:36 p.m. APPROVED MINUTES Environmental Board January 28, 2015 Page 2 There was no one present for Open Mike. 6. ACTION ITEMS (No Action Items) 7. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Lino Lakes Fire Station Mr.Asleson presented the Fire Station 2 Update Mr. Asleson presented the Fire Staion 2 Update and Review and one of his concerns is in restoring the wetlands. He would like to see the wetlands restored two to one. Ms. Bor wanted to know of the construction timeline. Will the building be done by January 2016. Also if there was suffinent drainage for the trucks, an example would be the washing of the trucks after the trucks went out on a call. The site is near wetlands. Mr. Heiskary was wondering how much of the city land would be left after the construction of the new fire station. Ms. Klebba was wondering after the site has been used by receational vechicles is there much of the natural seed habitat left. Ms. Andrzejewski was wondering about the road width on Centerville and Birch Streets. Mr. Asleson said that there would be turn lanes added to both Centerville and Birch Streets. Ms. Bor suggested that the Elm Ash Bore site be moved to another location Also she would like to see Rice Creek Watershed District involved in the discussions of the new fire station. The board reguested to have emails sent out of the design of the Fire Station 2. B. Environmental Board Goals, Final List The Environmental Board Goals were updated and summized to be presented to the City Council. C. Recycling Updates and Anoka County 2015 SCORE Contract K.C. Kye presented the upcoming events for Recycling Saturday which includes paper shedding in February and May. And adding bicycles for recycling and reuse also in May. Kye discussed that the organic recyling in City Hall and Police Deptmant was well received and he will now adding the Public Works building to the project. The newest addition is the sea container for furniture and mattress recycling. Those items will be taken to Great River Energy where they are recycled or disposed of and turned into electricity. 8. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Heiskary made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 p.m. Motion was supported by Ms. Andrzejewski. Motion carried 5 - 0.
