HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-148 Council ResolutionCouncil Member Neal and moved its adoption: introduced the following resolution CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 92 — 148 1993 STAR OF THE NORTH GAMES WHEREAS, the Star of the North Games is an Olympic -style, multi - sport festival of competitions open to all Minnesotans regardless of age or ability; and WHEREAS, the Star of the North State Games promote health, fitness and good sportsmanship through participation while fostering the development of Minnesota's amateur sport governing associations; and WHEREAS, representatives from Metro North communities, school districts and agencies have been contacted to serve as hosts for the Star of the North Summer Games on June 24-27, 1993; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that there is significant support and interest from local sport groups, businesses and community leaders in hosting the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Lino Lakes that it endorses the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games and will support the efforts of the local organizing committee by making its community facilities available for the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games, as well as provide limited in-kind services and support to conduct the competitions and special events associated with the 1993 Star of the North Summer Games. Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Elliott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Elliott, Neal, Reinert, Bergeson. The following voted against same: None, Council Member Kuether was absent. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
