HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-070 Council ResolutionCouncil Member Elliott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 70 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION ON AUGUST 29, 1994 FROM THE CIRCLE - LEX VFW POST #6583 FOR TWO (2) BALLISTICS VESTS AND A DONATION ON MARCH 14, 1994 FOR ANOTHER BALLISTICS VEST WHEREAS, bullet proof vests (ballistics vests) have become a standard piece of police equipment due to the ever increasing violence in our society, WHEREAS, funding for bullet proof vests are considered a piece of clothing and thereby not included as a Police Department budget item, WHEREAS, the Circle -Lex VFW Post #6583 has made a donation on March 14, 1994 in the amount of $540.00 to the City of Lino Lakes for the cost of one (1) ballistics vest, and WHEREAS, the Circle -Lex VFW Post #6583 has made a donation on August 29, 1994 in the amount of $1,109.25 to the City of Lino Lakes for the cost of two (2) ballistics vests, and WHEREAS, the monies will be appropriated to the General Fund in the following manner: Increase Revenue -Contributions $1,649.25 Increase Expenditures -Police Professional Services $1,649.25 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby accepts the donation of $1,109.25 for the cost of two (2) ballistics vests for Officer Timothy Ross and Officer Steven Wagner and wishes to express its gratitude to the Circle -Lex VFW Post #6583 for its donation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes hereby accepts the donation of $540.00 for the cost of a ballistics vest for Officer Brandon Young and wishes to express its gratitude to the Circle -Lex VFW Post #6583 for its donation. Anderson, Clerk -Treasurer RESOLUTION NO. 94 - 70 Page -2- The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Bergeson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Bergeson, Elliott, Neal. The following voted against same: None, Council Member Kuether and Mayor Reinert were absent. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
