HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-014 Council ResolutionCouncil Member Bergeson adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved its CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 99 - 14 RESOLUTION Supporting Metro Greenways Grant Submittal For The Construction Of The Clearwater Creek Greenway WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes has prepared a plan to develop a greenway along Clearwater Creek from The City of Hugo to Interstate 35W; AND WHEREAS, This greenway is an integral part of the stormwater management needs of the soon to be developed commercial area along this creek corridor; AND WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes desires to preserve the environmental qualities of the Clearwater Creek Corridor and the water that flows from this creek into the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes; AND WHEREAS, Creating this greenway will provide buffers and ponding areas adjacent to the creek to allow for protection of our water resource; AND WHEREAS, The Clearwater Creek Greenway would provide a means to restore biologic diversity in the animal and plant community along the greenway; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: That the Greenway Grant application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, requesting assistance to purchase land and construct the Clearwater Creek Greenway for the ecological benefits of our natural environment so that residents may enjoy these benefits for years to come, be approved. Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8thday of March 1999. Marlyn G. derson, Clerk -Treasurer f Mayor Kim Sullivan The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Lyden and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof Bergeson, Lyden, Sullivan The following voted against same: none, Dahl and Neal were absent Whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted.
