HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-138 Council ResolutionCouncil Member adoption: Nrn 1 introduced the following resolution and moved its CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 99-138 RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF REPORT ON IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE APOLLO DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE 4 WHEREAS, it is proposed to improve Apollo Drive between Lake Drive and 77th Street by constructing roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water systems and to assess the benefited property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvement, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: 1. That the proposed improvement be referred to the City Engineer for study and that he is instructed to report to the Council with all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether the proposed improvement is feasible and as to whether it should best be made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the improvement as recommended. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Dahl and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: The following voted against same: Whereupon said resolution was duly passed and adopted. Chel Gaustad, City Clerk AGENDA ITEM 6E STAFF ORIGINATOR: John Powell, City Engineer COUNCIL MEETING DATE: December 20, 1999 TOPIC: Resolution Number 99-138, Order Feasibility Report, Apollo Drive Improvements Phase 4 VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5) BACKGROUND: The City is currently master planning the Town Center located on the northeast quadrant of the 35W and Trunk Highway 49 interchange. Private development interest in this area is very active. In order to ensure that adequate roadway access and utility service to this entire quadrant is provided in a timely manner, the City needs to initiate a public improvement. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 429, Council is required to order the preparation of a report studying the proposed improvements. The proposed improvements will include roadways, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water service. OPTIONS: 1. Return to staff for further review. 2. Adopt Resolution No. 99-138 ordering a report on improvements for the Apollo Drive Phase 4 project. RECOMMENDATION: Option No. 2 - Adopt Resolution No. 99-138 ordering a report on improvements for the Apollo Drive Phase 4 project.
