RESOLUTION NO. 15-77
APPROVING AMERICAN LEGION POST 566 APPLICATION
FOR A 1-4 DAY TEMPORARY ON -SALE LIQUOR LICENSE
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 340A, allows the city council to consider a 1-4
day temporary on -sale liquor license to a non-profit organization in connection with a
proposed social event sponsored by the licensee and held within the city limits; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion Post 566 has submitted an application for a 1-4 day
temporary on -sale liquor license to serve alcohol at their proposed special event located
at 7731 Lake Drive on August 14, 15 & 16, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the American Legion Post 566 has paid the required fee; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has conducted a background check on the applicant;
and
WHEREAS, the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division requires the application be
approved by the City of Lino Lakes City Council before being submitted for approval to
the Liquor Control Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby
approves the request of the American Legion Post 566 for a temporary 1-4 day on -sale
liquor license.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 27th day of July, 2015.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council
Member Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Stoesz and
upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Rafferty, Stoesz, Roeser, Kusterman, Reinert

Consider Resolution No. 15-77, Authorizing issuance of a
1-4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for the
American Legion Post 566
Simple Majority (3/5 Vote Required)
American Legion Post 566 is in the process of applying for a special event permit for
August 15th, 16th and 17th during the weekend of the Blue Heron Days festival. They
would like to obtain a 1-4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License to conjunction with
that event.
The American Legion be fencing off a portion of their property on the south side of their
building. The Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division requires a 1 — 4
Day Temporary On- Sale Liquor License to allow the consumption of alcohol in this
outdoor area. The applicant is required to submit their request to the City requesting
local approval before the application is submitted to the state for final consideration.
The Legion has submitted to the City an application for the 1 -Day Temporary On -Sale
Liquor License. The application has been reviewed by staff.
Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration a resolution authorizing the
issuance of a 1-4 Day Temporary Liquor License to the American Legion Post 566.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Resolution No. 15-77, authorizing issuance of a 1-4 Day Temporary On- Sale
Liquor License for the American Legion Post 566.
