City Council <br />Date: 05/05/09 <br />CONSENT <br />Item: <br />MOTION: <br />ITEM: General Fund transfer to Fall Festival Fund <br />SUBMITTED BY: Tom Bouthilet, Finance Director <br />REVIEWED BY: Craig W. Dawson, Interim City Administrator <br />SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED: The City Council is being asked to consider approving <br />the transfer of $7,500 from the General Fund, lawful gambling proceeds, to the Fall Festival Fund. <br />On February 17th the Lake Elmo Jaycees presented a check to the City in the total amount <br />$7,500 from its lawful gambling proceeds. For the past few years, these funds were used to <br />recognize the efforts of the City volunteers. Last year, volunteers and family members <br />participated in the Spaghetti Supper at no cost, were acknowledged publicly and presented a Gift <br />Certificate as part of the 1 s` Annual Fall Festival. Plans are currently underway for the 2"d Annual <br />Fall Festival with similar activities and volunteer recognition programs. The Fall Festival <br />Committee is asking that the 2009 lawful gambling proceeds be dedicated to the Fall Festival <br />events. <br />MOTION FOR CONSIDERATION: Move to approve transfer of $7,500. lawful gambling proceeds <br />in the General Fund to the Fall Festival Fund. <br />
