CITY OF LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP MINUTES <br />MARCH 25, 2021 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. PRESENT: Mayor Charles Cadenhead (via video conference): Councilmembers Katrina <br />Beckstrom, Dale Dorschner, Jeff Holtz and Lisa McGinn. Staff present: City Clerk Johnson. Present via video conference: City Administrator Handt, Assistant Administrator Dickson, Planning Director Roberts, Public Works Director Powers, <br />Finance Director Magureanu, Fire Chief Kalis, Commander Harris and Sgt. Erickson. <br /> <br />City Hall/Facilities Discussion <br />City Administrator Handt reviewed each area of the proposed building for City Staff. Discussion was held concerning second exit for upper level staff, daylight in interior offices and size of the <br />break room. <br />Fire Chief Kalis reviewed the fire department portion of the proposed building. Discussion was held concerning the layout of the kitchen and breakroom, need for living quarters and apparatus areas. <br />Commander Harris reviewed law enforcement areas of the proposed building. Discussion was <br />held concerning the need for the parking bay. <br />Public Works Director Powers reviewed proposed upgrades to the existing public works facility. <br />City Administrator Handt reviewed the plan for city staff to occupy the current city hall building during construction and the resulting loss of the council chambers space during that time. Handt also reviewed the estimated cost breakdown for the plan for the new facilities and public works <br />upgrades.
