SUNFISH LAKE PARK
Classification: Community Park
Location: 10000 Stillwater Lane North
Size: 284 Acres
Park Description:
Sunfish Lake Park is the crown jewel of the Lake Elmo
Park System, a symbol of the rural character Lake Elmo
follows as a community concept. This is the city's birth-
place, where the first family settled, where the assembly
met that created the township we now know as the City
of Lake Elmo. This park's rolling glacial landscape is the
same today as it was for the first settlers; a pristine oak
forest with gentle ridges separating ponds that show-
case both landscape and a lush wildlife habitat. A rare
jewel indeed!
This is a large, centrally located park with a total of 284
acres. It is primarily wooded and remains in its natural
state. The park has three ponds and access to Sunfish
Lake. Hiking, cross-country skiing and picnicking are
the primary activities at Sunfish Lake Park.
Park Inventory:
Natural Features
Passive
Active
Lakes/Pond
Picnicking
Sliding Hill
Natural Parkland
Trails —
Trails —
Open space
walk/jog
Horseback
Canoeing
Skiing
Snowshoeing
7:
gtillwater fan
e
Stillwater Boulevard
S
OP
Other Facilities
Parking - 50 unpaved spaces
Restrooms - portable
QV 7°
e-r'
