CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />COUNTY OF WASHINGTON <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ORDINANCE 08-069 <br />BY TITLE AND SUMMARY <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 08-069, an <br />ordinance to add Chapter 115 — Building Contractors; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota statutes, section 412.19 1, subd. 4, allows publication by title and <br />summary in the case of lengthy ordinances or those containing charts or maps; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the following summary would clearly inform <br />the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, <br />that the City Clerk shall cause the following summary of Ordinance No, 08-069 to be published in <br />the official newspaper in lieu of the entire ordinance- <br />The City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has adopted Ordinance No. 08-069, which represents <br />a revision to the City Code, specifically establishing additional licensing requirements for <br />contractors to ensure competency and professionalism in construction activities in Lake Elmo, <br />The adopted additions include: <br />• Specification of what types of work- require contractor licensure <br />• Specification of '\Nrliat types of work require city licensing <br />• Process and requirements for obtaining a contractor license <br />• Suspension and revocation of license procedures <br />• Fees and exemptions from the provisions. <br />The full text of Ordinance No. 08-069 is available for inspection at Lake Elmo city hall during <br />regular business hours. <br />Page I of 2 <br />Resolution 2013 -10 <br />
