CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />LT <br />,,11 <br />690100MISIM, <br />W- EMU MAIRA um <br />EK910 I N N a as I X010 LVA N N MAIO, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo ("City") has established a Comprehensive Plan that <br />provides a compilation of background data, policy statenients, standards, and maps, which help to <br />guide the future physical, social, and economic development of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, The City has received a request from the City of Oakdale to consider <br />paiticipating in a joint project that would extend sanitary sewer service to a limited number of <br />properties along Olson Lake Trail that are currently on private treatment systems; and <br />WHEREAS, based on feedback from residents along Olson Lake Trail that would benefit <br />from an extension of sewer from the City of Oakdale, City has agreed to participate in a joint <br />project to extend sewer to a limited number of residences in Lake Elmo, and <br />WHEREAS, this area was not previously identified by the City as a future sewer service <br />area and the City has therefore prepared an amendment to Chapter VI of the Lake Elmo <br />Comprehensive Plan (Wastewater Facilities) in order to revise the Metropolitan Urban Service ea <br />(MUSA) for the City to include homes along Olson Lake Trail that may be served by an extension <br />of sewer service from the City of Oakdale in the future; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo Planning Commission held a public hearing on April 22,2013 <br />to consider the request to amend the Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, on April 22, 2013 the Lake Elmo Planning Commission adopted a motion to <br />recommend that the City Council approve the request to amend the Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed the recommendation of the Planning Commissi <br />and the proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Plan at its May 7, 2013 meeting. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, based upon the testimony elicited and information received, the City <br />Council makes the following: <br />1) That the Comprehensive Plan amendment would revise Chapter VI — Wast",,ater Facifitie <br />of the Lake Elmo Comprehensive Plan to expand the City's MUSA boundary arid to -.
