LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />May 3, 2022 <br />Councilmember Holtz, seconded by Councilmember McGinn, moved TO APPROVE THE <br />CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED. Motion passed 5 - 0. <br />ITEM 11: 2022 Parks Work Plan <br />Public Works Director Powers introduced the proposed 2022 Parks Commission work plan and <br />City Planner Hetzel reviewed 2021 projects completed and proposed projects for 2022. <br />Discussion held regarding trail connections, maintenance and upkeep of current parks, ball <br />fields. <br />Mayor Cadenhead, seconded by Councilmember Holtz, moved TO ADOPT THE 2022 PARKS <br />COMMISSION WORK PLAN AND INCLUDE THE HAMLET TO TAPESTRY TRAIL <br />CONNECTIONAND CREATE A POLICY FOR WHICH PARKS SHOULD HAVE A <br />PORTABLE TOILET AND DETERMINE APPROPRIATE NEED FOR BASEBALL <br />FIELDS IN THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO. Motion passed 5 — 0. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Mayor Cadenhead: Thanked staff for setting up the groundbreaking ceremony for the City <br />Center project <br />Councilmember Beckstrom: Commended staff on the groundbreaking ceremony and thanked <br />Public Works for addressing trash in the ditch. <br />Councilmember Holtz: Suggested Councilmembers reach out to staff for updated information <br />before responding to resident concerns. <br />STAFF REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Administrator Handt: Provided an update on construction on the City Center and water <br />issues. <br />City Cleric Johnson: Noted that the solid waste ordinance would be on the upcoming <br />workshop agenda for discussion. <br />City Engineer Griffin: Reported on construction project bids. <br />Public Works Director Powers: Reported on upcoming Sunfish Lake Park prairie burn. <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />Councilmember Holtz, seconded by Councilmember Dorschner, moved TO ENTER INTO <br />CLOSED SESSION PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 13D.05, <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
